Key facts from latest REINZ figures:
- Even with new listings having eased due to economy and weather events, stock levels are returning to a more normal level after a few years at historically low levels.
- National Median House Price is $762,000 (similar to last month’s median house price) which is 13.9% down from this time last year, but remaining stable compared to last month.
- Waikato’s Median House Price of $774,500 while down 7.2% from this time last year, has actually increased very slightly from last month.
- Interestingly, this current Waikato median house price is still $191,250 higher than pre-covid (increase of 33%)
- 2022 provisional net migration was a gain of 15,800 – made up of a net gain in non-NZ citizens and a net loss of NZ citizens which is consistent with migration patterns before the covid-19 pandemic.
