Hamilton’s got a new mayor in Tim Macindoe. I’m backing him, and I’ve offered to help.
I spoke with the Waikato Times about this. If council delivers on the basics, the investment will follow — fast. Until then, I’m on the sidelines in Hamilton.
But here’s the truth: I won’t reinvest in Hamilton until we see real change. The mayor changes, but 99% of the staff and the system stay the same. If we want cranes up and homes built, we need:
• A funded plan to clear the wastewater choke points
• Faster, predictable resource consents
• Public timelines we can bank on
Cheers,
John Kenel
