The Waikato Regional Theatre got a $12 million shot in the arm from the Provincial Growth Fund today.
“The positive economic and social benefits of this transformational project will impact across the Waikato” Momentum Waikato Chief Exec Kelvyn Eglinton says. “Our CBD is becoming a groovy, exciting place to live and work, and the Waikato Regional Theatre will take it to the next level, creating a full spectrum cosmopolitan city centre that attracts talent from around the world.”
This is another huge positive for the already rapidly growing Hamilton City. We at Assured Property have been building property that suits younger people for many years. Studio rooms and 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom townhouses. As Hamilton attracts more talent, we’ll need more accommodation for young people, especially accommodation that suits singles, as many of the people we attract will be young without families.
We’ll still have the families moving out of Auckland because its a tough place to live. It’s a lot easier to buy a house in Hamilton, a lot less expensive than Auckland and we have an exciting choice of jobs, many in the IT sector, so well paying. Seemingly every company in and around Hamilton; Cambridge, Morrinsville and Marama for example are expanding and looking for more staff. As long as we have an excess of jobs the region will continue to grow and continue to need more and more housing.
